7 is known to be God’s number. Why, you ask? In Genesis 2 :1-2 says, “Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.” By the 7th day, God had finished the work He had been doing. He rested in all His glory on the 7th day. 7 is a significant number because God ended it and said, “It is finished. It is complete; lacking in nothing.” You can rest. That is the promise of the Lord. So why is it really the Lord’s number?
God is fulfilling promises with everybody on the 7th year. Why a promise? Even int he Bible, God was not pleased with the happenings on earth. That is why He called Noah and gathered them in the ark. He called on everybody. But nobody wanted to come. People forgot about Him and that is why there was a great flood. But after that, the Lord made a covenant between man and the earth and Him. He set His rainbow in the clouds and it became a sign. Whenever God brings clouds over the earth and a rainbow appears, God’s covenant with His people is remembered.
The rainbow has 7 colors - nobody can change it. No matter how much the world tries to discredit its 7 colors, that is how it was made. It appears in its proper order, never to be confused. It is a promise, a covenant that can never be broken. It can be physically seen so that people will know that God’s promise will be fulfilled. 7 is the number of liberation. Deuteronomy 15:1-2 says, you must cancel debts at the end of every 7 years. The anointing to be set free from any form of debt has been declared in the Lord’s time. Breakthrough and deliverance comes at the 7th hour. In Joshua 5:1-5, God delivered Jericho in the hands of Joshua on the 7th day when they marched around the city 7 times. Healing came to Naaman when he washed himself 7 times in the Jordan River, as told in 2 Kings 5:9-10. Healing is available to all who put their trust in Jesus. Rest in Him and watch Him move. How many times should you forgive? Not only 7 times, but 70x7 times. The more you forgive, the more breakthrough is coming. It is all interconnected. Liberation comes when you forgive. For those who forgive, their prayers will not be hindered, thus the promise is kept. Here will be breakthroughs and deliverance too. You need to forgive because God forgave you first.
The Bible is describes specific things with the number 7. Jesus described Himself 7 times - as the Bread of Life (John 6:35), the Light of the World (John 8:12), the Gate to Salvation (John 10:9), the Good Shepherd (John 10:11), the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25-26), the Way , the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), and the True Vine (John 15:5). Jesus showed everybody how to pray - Hallowed be thy name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, Give us our daily bread, Forgive is our trespass as we forgive, lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil. 7 prayer points to have a powerful prayer life. Jesus also gave 7 kingdom parables. He did not want any body to miss what is to come and wanted everyone to know that His kingdom is already on earth. When you receive Jesus, the kingdom is in your heart. During Holy Week, the 7 last words of Jesus was discussed. At the cross, Jesus said it is finished and complete and wanted to leave you with a promise. He saved the world. When He left, He also gave the ministry of the Holy Spirit - the Spirit of the Lord, Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Might, Knowledge and Fear of the Lord. There is a 7-fold ministry happening today. Jesus also left His people with 7 pieces of armor - the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, helmet of salvation, feet of the gospel, shield of faith, sword of the spirit and prayer - so you can stand against the works of the enemy.
What does this mean for the church? Make Jesus known. Be a lamp stand. In Revelations 2-3, the lamp stand is the church. The end times are coming. Jesus will come soon in the same way He went up. Are you ready?
