Cradle of Grace

By Pastor Alex Ruelo

God’s amazing grace is always at work. You do not have to work for it. There is nothing you can do to receive it. It is a gift. A gift is always free. Even the faith that you received is from God. That is why you do not have any right to boast.

When you look at the lyrics of the song, “Cradle of Grace,” it shows that God’s grace is continually at work in your life. For the record, the grace of God is extraordinary. That is why sometimes, man has difficulty understanding it. Simply because it is from God. It is different from all the other gifts that you have ever received. Most of the time, you receive a gift because you did something. But the grace of God is freely given. A gift is different from a prize.

I will sing when it all starts to fall

Know that you're good through it all

Not by might, by power or sight

Only by the blood of Jesus Christ

The blood of Christ is the key to the grace of God.

You hold me

From grace to grace

Youll carry me

Till I see you face to face

Everything is possible by the blood of Jesus Christ.

You're still moving all the mountains

You're still walking on the waves

Still that fire taking over

winning my battles in my place

You're still holding all the stars down

You're still calling each one by their names

You're still king in the darkest night

You're still cradling me in your grace

God is taking care of you amidst all the trials and adversities you face in your life. Even though sometimes you do not want it anymore, He will continue to stay by your side. David said God’s mercies will follow him all the days of his life. Many times, Christians are the first ones to give up. They say no to God’s blessings because of all the sins they have committed. But God’s mercies are new every morning.

Oh I know you are for me

You are making all things new

Jehovah Jirah

Lord we patiently wait for You

You have won each battle

There is victory in your name

There's light in the shadows

I will sing and ill sing it again

Does the grace you receive cover it all? Some think that the grace they receive is not enough. They think the grace that they received is only their ticket to heaven. If that was the case, then you should have died right after you received Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Why are you still alive? But no. You continue to live here on earth while enjoying His blessings. And His blessings encompass everything.

  1. Earthly Possessions - John 1:16 says, “From His abundance, we have all received one gracious blessing after another.” Christians think that God’s blessings are only in heaven so they live a very poor life here on earth. They do not think that they can prosper once they receive God’s grace. They know that God will provide for their needs, but they do not understand what this truly means. God is at work in all aspects of their life. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says, “You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.” God is not only rich. He owns everything and lacks nothing. But He became poor for you. He was born in a manger, grew up with His father as a carpenter, was crucified amongst criminals, and buried in a borrowed tomb. Jesus Christ did not have to become poor in order for Him to die on the cross and pay for all the sins of the world. He could have died a rich man. But why did He choose to be poor? Did He want to know how it feels? Jesus literally became poor. Psalms 8:6-8 says, “You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority— the flocks and the herds and all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents.” The problem is, man sinned. That is the reason why you are poor. You were cursed even before you were born. When Jesus walked the earth, He brought the curse with Him. And that is the reason why He had to be poor too. But when He died on the cross, He paid for it all. You need not be poor again. He literally became poor so you can literally become rich. It is a done deal. Stop the pauper mentality. You are rich in Jesus’ name. Hold on to His word. David said He has never seen a son or daughter of God that died from hunger. He has you covered.

  2. Health and Healing - 3 John 1:2 says, “Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit.” While your soul is prospering in the Lord, you have to be enjoying good health. God wants you to have a strong body. Matthew 8:16-17 says, “That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick. This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said, “He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.” God’s grace includes healing too. It is not only of the spiritual kind. God is working and will heal your sickness and give you good health. 1 Peter 2:24 says, “He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.” In his vision, Isaiah saw how Jesus suffered and saw that He cannot even be recognized anymore. Every wound on His body is for the sake of all the people on earth.

  3. Life Full of Joy - 1 Timothy 6:17 says, “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.” God gives you all you need to enjoy life on earth. Christianity is not survival. It is not the survival of the fittest. You are but foreigners in this world. God will provide the life that is enjoyable to you. You should know that there is no other thing that should be in your mind except for how to please your Lord and Savior. Psalms 35:27 says, “But give great joy to those who came to my defense. Let them continually say, “Great is the Lord, who delights in blessing his servant with peace!” God is happy when you are well.

  4. Forever paid - Hebrews 9:12 says, “With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.” Your sins have been paid for. God’s grace is extraordinary. It is from beginning to end. His death on the cross covers all sins, yesterday, today, and forever. The word eternal comes from the Greek word “aion,” means forever; and the word redemption comes from “lutrosis,” which means paid. In other words, eternal redemption means “forever paid.” He is not going back to the holy of holies anymore.

Humble yourself before the Lord. Give your life to Him. Avoid sin. God carried yours ins from beginning to end. Many will abuse this grace, especially those who do not understand it. When the apostles reprimanded the woman who poured perfume on Jesus’ feet and used her hair to wipe it off, Jesus told them the story about the two workers who both had debts of differing amounts and were forgiven. Who do you think, He said, would be more grateful? The one with the bigger debt, of course. If yo understand what grace really means, how much God gave up for it so you could experience it to the maximum level, you would not abuse it. You will give not just to give but because you know that He saved you by His grace. When you serve and play music and worship because God gave you grace. You will not go to church just for the sake of going, but because His grace is new every morning. You will not just worship Him because you will go to heaven but because you know that His grace takes care of you the moment you accepted it until your last breath. You understand grace. It is free for you. But Jesus paid for it with His blood. Make yourself worthy of it.
