Divine Interruptions

By Pastor Dan McNair

What moves God? God answers all the time, “You move me!” And it’s really hard for us to believe that because of the lies the enemy has sown into us. But I tell you what is true. God purposed and put you on this earth; even when He chose the family you will go to, and the location and time you will be born. He knew before you were. He said, “I want this one. I want you!” A lot of you grew up without fathers; or fathers who were not good to you. Maybe you still have that. In His wisdom, the Lord allows us that journey in life. We don’t always understand why. But if we seek Him and seek His love and deliverance, we will look back and say “I see how you used my brokenness.”

There has been some hard things that have happened here. I know you leaders have experienced things they have not told you about. In their hearts, they have cried in the private places. They did not understand all things. Bu7t they saw God at work. This is the answer to their prayer. In the book of Acts 14, Paul and Barnabas were preaching the good news and they said, we must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God. You are not alone in going through hardships. But lo and behold, the kingdom is in your midst. Through your purity, powers and principalities and thrones of darkness will be displaced. The love of God is going to invade this land. I see a people with a deliverance anointing, a heart of pure worship. And I am so honored to be here.

We don’t always know what we carry. I can’t tell you what I carry. What the Lord has done in me, He has delivered me from addictions, pornography, alcohol; I’ve messed up a marriage. I’ve used people; I was a womanizer. But God, He is the one who changes us. And the call today is let Him come in. Let Him do the deep cleansing work that Jesus finished on the cross. I have nothing to give you but Jesus. But the cry of my heart is John 17:3. “And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.” For that, the Lord brought me back to Him. After reaching the lowest point in my life that I remember, I said “God make me the man I wanna be. This is not the man I want to be God. I don’t even know what I’m supposed to be.” God heard my heart. And He enraptured my heart with Exodus 34:6-7 says, “The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected— even children in the third and fourth generations.”” Moses asked God to show him His glory. He said I will cause my goodness to pass over you. But you can’t see my face. And He came. He hid Moses away. Then a fire came, and a whirlwind came but there wasn’t God in it. And a whisper came. And God proclaimed, Yahweh - a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faith; forgiving wickedness for billions of sins yet not letting the guilty go unpunished; maintaining love for generations; visiting the iniquity of the parents from the first to the fourth generations. He is first loving. He is compassionate. He is merciful. He want to forgive. He is not scared of our sin. He is not scared. What He doesn’t want is for us to be apart from Him. So He has to be just. He has to hold us accountable for what is happening. So to all who will turn, He relents because He is merciful. This is a God you need to know. In the cry of my heart He came to me.

John 17:3 says, “And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.” This is one of the most profound scriptures in the Bible because it will speak on who He is and who you are. What does it mean? It means redemption. It mean all our debt is erased. It’s not just a concept and it’s not about time. God doesn’t live in time. He made it. He came into time. He entered time for us. He put us in time. And He marks the seasons. He has events laid out from before the foundations of the world. It’s not about time. Jesus said eternal life is this: that they know you, the only true God. If there is one thing I can leave you with today it’s knowing God. Knowing the way, the way is a man named Jesus. The way is God Himself. Knowing the way.

John 17:24 says, “Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!” How many know you must be given to the Father by the Son before you can be saved? Did you know that? You can’t be saved. You cannot believe without the Spirit of God. It’s His work in you and it’s His calling and choosing. If you are saved it’s because He chose you. It’s not because you earned it. I couldn’t earn it. I didn’t deserve it. If you heard my story I’m sure you’ll say I didn’t deserve it. Not one of us, not one of us  - we all fell short of the glory of God, every single one of us. But the Father chose us for His son. He says, I desire that they also whom you have given me may be with me where I am. I want them with me. They are family. I want them to know me. To see my glory that you have given me. Because you loved me before the foundation of the world. That’s the cry of Jesus’ heart. He wants us to see Him. To know His glory. He wants us with Him. His heart wants us. What moves you God? He says “YOU.”  “O righteous Father, the world doesn’t know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me.”  (John 17:25-26) how many know you can know the Father heart of Jesus? There is a way. And that way is at the cross; that way is a man who died for you; the Son of God. So because you believe, you know the Father has sent His Son. I have made known to them your name and I will continue to make it. That the love which you loved me may be in them and I in them. Did you know in this chapter, Jesus says that the very same love the Father has for Jesus, the eternal Son, He has for you. It’s not different. It’s not less.  It’s not more. He says the same love. Jesus came to reveal the Father. If there’s one thing this world needs apart from a Savior, it’s a dad. It’s a heavenly Father; and the motherly love of God too. Make no mistake. The love, the goodness a woman carries, the goodness a mother carries, all of it existed in God before it was. The fullness of love is in Him. My heart’s cry is to know Him. And that you know Him too.
