What is fresh air? Why are you looking for fresh air? And where can you find it in the bible?
In the Old Testament, the word used to describe fresh air is “ruach,” which is a wind, a breath, a violent exhalation or a blast of breath. In the New Teatament, the Greek word “pneuma” was used, meaning a current of air, a blast of breath or a strong breeze.
Why are you looking for fresh air? Because Genesis 2:7 says, ”Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.“
Fresh air makes you live. That breath is God’s breath of life in you.
The shift in the atmosphere is a breath of fresh air. But you have to go deeper into God’s revelation for you. The Lord is speaking to you. The fresh air is His Word. Genesis 1:3 says, “Then God said,…” When God said something, when He spoke, it breathed power into the world. When He speaks to you, you will live. Psalms 33:6 says, ”The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born.“When God speaks, everything becomes alive. His promises are alive so you can hold onto them. John 6:35 says, ”Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.“ Jesus is the word. Jesus is your fresh air. Jesus is your life.
Why do you feel alive when you hear the Word of God? Why are you in church every Sunday? Why do you read your bible? Because when you read and hear the Word of God, you become alive. God wants you to live. His word is what matters.
Genesis 1:1-2 says, ”In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.“ fresh air is always identified like a wind. Even from the very beginning, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God was already there. The Spirit of God is your fresh air. You have it everyday because He is in you, He is with you and He is for you. John 20:21-22 says, ”Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.“ fresh air is also walking with the Holy Spirit because you are revived. You are rejuvenated. You are living because God is living in you and you in Him.
Luke 7:36-50 says, ”One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to have dinner with him, so Jesus went to his home and sat down to eat. When a certain immoral woman from that city heard he was eating there, she brought a beautiful alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume. Then she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping. Her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept kissing his feet and putting perfume on them. When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know what kind of woman is touching him. She’s a sinner!” Then Jesus answered his thoughts. “Simon,” he said to the Pharisee, “I have something to say to you.” “Go ahead, Teacher,” Simon replied. Then Jesus told him this story: “A man loaned money to two people—500 pieces of silver to one and 50 pieces to the other. But neither of them could repay him, so he kindly forgave them both, canceling their debts. Who do you suppose loved him more after that?” Simon answered, “I suppose the one for whom he canceled the larger debt.” “That’s right,” Jesus said. Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Look at this woman kneeling here. When I entered your home, you didn’t offer me water to wash the dust from my feet, but she has washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You didn’t greet me with a kiss, but from the time I first came in, she has not stopped kissing my feet. You neglected the courtesy of olive oil to anoint my head, but she has anointed my feet with rare perfume. “I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.” Then Jesus said to the woman, “Your sins are forgiven.” The men at the table said among themselves, “Who is this man, that he goes around forgiving sins?” And Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”“
When Jesus has touched your life already, you will do everything for him.
Seek fresh air, seek Jesus - Luke 7:37 - Be like the sinful woman. Seek fresh air. No matter is going through in your life, come to Jesus. Surrender. Do not strive. God wants you. You are not disqualified. Jesus will leave the 99 to search for just 1.
Repent, receive fresh air - Luke 7:37 - Repenting means to turn your ways. Repentance shifts the atmosphere. It is difficult to see God move if you do not repent. Let God turn things around for good. Jesus paid for your sins, past, present and future. Receive the fresh air from Him.
Be healed. And stay healed - Luke 7:50 - Do not turn back. Walk with the Lord all the days of your life.
Have a fresh start. Start right. Begin with Jesus.
