I’ll Do It Tomorrow by Pastor Alex Ruelo

Many people put off for tomorrow what they can do today. Why is that? The desire for change is not that great maybe. Or maybe it is but the fire burns too quickly. They say the only thing constant is change. Everyone and everything changes. It is the only thing we can count on. Change can bring happiness or sadness and even fear. But the biggest queston is: do the changes in your life bring you closer to God?

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 says,

“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace.”

We follow time. Time brings and propels us forward. In all the changes of our life, time is followed. These verses tell us that God has a plan for everyone. It is the cycle of ife. Babies are bor and people die. Athough we face so many problems and the things that happen in our life are contrary to the pans of God, we discover that if God is absent, there is no soution to our problems. God is there in the beginning and all the way to the end. There are things that we have to learn from these verses.

There is a time to discover. (V. 3-4) - When we are born, we are dependent on our parents because do not know anything. As time goes by, we discover that we can do things on our own. King Solomon recognizes that God controls the time of our lives. God has a reason for everything that happens to us. In life, we discover that from birth until death, there are so many things we can learn. If we can accept the changes in our life, it will be easier for us to remain in the presence of God. If not, we will always turn away from Him.

There is a time to accept. (V. 5-7) - We have to accept the changes and the pains of our choices. Being a Christian does not mean that only good things will happen to you. If you want  change to happen in your life, you have to accept the changes that will come. Good or bad, you have to accept it. If you cannot accept change, nothing will happen in your life. Are you ready to bloom for Christ?

There is a time to appreciate. (V. 7-8) We need to learn how to be thankful and grateful for everything. The Philippines is a free country. Although we are a product of a lot of wars, we are now in a state of peace. But our freedom is now being tested in other things. We need to learn how to fight for what is right and wrong. Stand for what is right to be able to appreciate your freedom more.

Ecclesiastes 3:9-13 says, “What do people really get for all their hard work? I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God.” God wants you to be happy and enjoy your life here on earth. He wants you to really experience life. He does not want you to play safe. And when you understand that everything has a season, you will realize that it is then that you were strengthened by God because He wants you to experience what life is really about. That is what you call life. Travel through it.

You have to go through every chapter of your life. If your season right now is not happy, tomorrow it will be. The tears will be gone tomorrow and there will be a smile in your face. Life goes on and when you know that, change will come. Hope will come. Be thankful for every season. God might be teaching you something at the moment. Learn from Him. Trust that God has good plans for everything. Trust that He will provide for you aways. Trust that whatever is happening to you now is how it’s supposed to be. Your last resort might be your only hope. God has your tomorrow. Trust Him.
